Read Properly Before Decide Your Trip
1. Role of Kompass Komodo
Kompass Komodo acts as an independent booking agency and third-party intermediary. Our role is to connect travelers with independent boat operators offering Komodo trips departing from Lombok or Labuan Bajo.
We do not own, operate, or manage any boats listed on our platform. All onboard services, schedules, safety procedures, crew management, and daily operations are handled solely by the respective boat operators.
2. Booking Agreement
When you make a booking through Kompass Komodo:
You enter a direct service agreement with the boat operator, not Kompass Komodo
Kompass Komodo facilitates communication, booking coordination, and information delivery
All trip execution is the responsibility of the boat operator
By confirming a booking, you acknowledge and accept this role separation.
3. Trip Duration and Route
Itineraries may vary slightly depending on weather, sea conditions, safety considerations, or official regulations.
4. Prices and Inclusions
All Komodo Trips departing from Lombok are offered as all-inclusive packages, which generally include:
Optional activities, such as extended trekking in Komodo National Park, may require additional payment and are entirely optional.
Prices may change due to operational costs, fuel prices, or seasonal demand.
5. Payments
Full or partial payment may be required to secure your booking
Specific payment terms depend on the boat operator
Certain pickup arrangements or special logistics may require full payment in advance
Kompass Komodo will clearly communicate payment requirements before confirmation.
6. Pick-Up and Transfer Arrangements
Pick-up services are arranged based on your accommodation location and operator policy. Kompass Komodo assists in recommending the most efficient option, but final execution remains the responsibility of the boat operator.
Transfer times may be long due to geography and route logistics.
7. Wildlife Encounters
Komodo dragons, manta rays, and whale sharks are wild animals. Sightings are never guaranteed. Kompass Komodo and boat operators do not provide guarantees regarding wildlife encounters.
Guests are expected to follow ranger instructions and environmental guidelines at all times.
8. Health, Fitness, and Responsibility
By booking, you confirm that:
You are physically and mentally fit for multi-day sailing
You understand this is an adventure-based trip, not a luxury cruise
You accept the risks associated with sea travel
Guests are responsible for personal belongings, health conditions, and travel insurance.
9. Limitation of Liability
Kompass Komodo is not liable for:
Onboard service quality
Delays, cancellations, or route changes
Accidents, injuries, or loss during the trip
Weather or sea-related disruptions
Our responsibility is limited to acting as a booking intermediary and communication liaison.
10. Acceptance of Terms
By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: December 2025
Komodo trips involve open-sea travel and strict maritime regulations. Cancellations and changes can occur due to factors beyond anyone’s control. This policy explains how cancellations and refunds are handled.
1. Cancellation by the Guest
Cancellation terms vary depending on the boat operator. In general:
Deposits are usually non-refundable
Partial refunds may be offered depending on notice period
Last-minute cancellations often result in no refund
Exact terms will be communicated before payment.
2. Cancellation by the Boat Operator
Trips may be canceled by the boat operator due to:
Technical issues such as engine problems
Safety concerns
Incomplete or expired vessel documentation
Harbor Master restrictions
Severe weather or sea conditions
In these cases, the operator may offer:
The final decision depends on the operator’s policy.
3. Weather and Sea Conditions
Weather conditions are unpredictable. If sailing is deemed unsafe by the captain or Harbor Master:
The trip may be delayed or canceled
Guest safety is always the priority
Refunds or rescheduling follow the operator’s policy
Weather-related cancellations are not considered operator negligence.
4. Document-Related Cancellations
Indonesian maritime regulations are strict. If a required document is missing or expired, even if unrelated to seaworthiness, the boat may not be allowed to sail.
This can result in last-minute cancellation despite prior confirmation.
5. Komodo National Park Trek Fees
Medium trek fees are usually included. If guests choose to continue to a long trek when Komodo dragons are not found, an additional fee may apply.
This decision is voluntary and does not affect refund eligibility.
6. Kompass Komodo’s Role in Cancellations
Kompass Komodo does not decide cancellations. However, we will:
Assist communication between guests and operators
Help explain options clearly
Support rescheduling discussions when possible
We act as a mediator, not the decision-maker.
7. No Compensation for Additional Losses
Kompass Komodo and boat operators are not responsible for:
We strongly recommend travel insurance.
8. Travel Insurance Recommendation
Guests are strongly advised to purchase travel insurance covering:
Trip cancellation
Medical emergencies
Sea travel activities
This protects you against unexpected situations.
Final Note
Komodo Trip From Lombok is a unique adventure that depends on nature, safety regulations, and maritime conditions. While every effort is made to operate smoothly, flexibility and understanding are essential.
At Kompass Komodo, we believe clear rules protect both travelers and operators, ensuring fair expectations on all sides.
